Just when we thought CES might be getting interesting… Over the past week or so, blogs have been going back and forth like a government decision on free broadband in terms of whether or not Microsoft would be debuting a Zune phone at CES next month. Some said maybe, some said no way and some went as far as to cite inside sources when claiming that Microsoft would definitely be introducing the world to the fruits of its Danger acquisition. As it turns out, no such luck. Brian Seitz, Group Manager of Zune for Microsoft, has made the official statement that Microsoft will not be bringing a Zune Phone to CES. It’s entirely possible that Microsoft may have something special in store for CES and it may indeed have something to do with the much-rumored “Project Pink”, but it will not be a new mobile handset dubbed Zune.
