Nokia is said to be readying the release of a flagship Windows Phone handset to join the Lumia 800 and Lumia 710, as well as a Windows 8-powered tablet that could launch as soon as June 2012. Speaking to French newspaper LesEchos, Nokia France head Paul Amsellem reportedly dished some new details surrounding Nokia’s forthcoming devices. With regard to smartphones, Amsellem likened the Lumia 800 to a mid-level luxury sedan and said a high-end model is on the way. “It’s just the equivalent of the BMW 5 Series,” he told the paper. “We will soon have a full range with a Series 7 and Series 3.” Even more intriguing, the executive reportedly confirmed that Nokia will launch a Windows 8 tablet in June, suggesting that Microsoft’s next-generation operating system could launch ahead of schedule; Microsoft said earlier this year that the new OS would become available in the second half of 2012. Nokia did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
