Rumors have been circulating for years now about Apple’s plans to offer subscription-based movie and music services. The general consensus has always seemed to indicate that they weren’t interested in such offerings, but new information might prove the cynics wrong. It’s being reported that Apple is currently negotiating with unnamed Hollywood studios to bring a movie rental service to its iTunes store. From the looks of things, the company is considering renting select titles to customers for $2.99 for a 30 day rental. The rented titles would be watchable on your computer, iPod, and/or your iPhone. Not too bad at all! If everything pans out, we should all look for this to appear in time for a September release date. Would this price point entice you to use the service?
