Samsung just announced two brand new phablets, the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 edge+, during a special event in New York City. Unlike previous years, Samsung decided to push forward the announcement of the new Galaxy Note flagships by more than two weeks to make sure the phone hits stores before the next-gen iPhones arrive. And Samsung will indeed start Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ sales about a month before the iPhone 6s launches.
Both devices will launch in the U.S. on August 21st, with preorders set to kick off today. The phones will be available from AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Verizon, but also from Samsung Experience Shops in Best Buy stores. Select stores will have the two phones on display starting with August 14th.
Other stores getting the handset include Amazon.com, BestBuy.com, Costco Wholesale, Sam’s Club, Target and select Walmart stores.
The company said that carriers and retailers will announce specific pricing and availability for each model. Both handsets will be available in 32GB and 64GB versions. As for color options, the Galaxy Note 5 launches in Black Sapphire and White Pearl, while the Galaxy S6 edge+ will be available in Black Sapphire and Gold Platinum.
