“Laptop computers” and “professional quality audio reproduction” go together like “Michael Vick” and “innocent.” Hoping to change the landscape a bit, Toshiba has brought the legendary Waves company on board for a bit of extra help. Waves is one of the music industry’s most respected manufacturers of audio processing technology, with many of the world’s top recording studios using Waves processing hardware and software. Hoping to capitalize on their expertise, Toshiba has decided to incorporate the company’s MaxxAudio signal processing into their Qosmio G40 and F40 laptops. Desktop quality sound on the go? Probably not, but this is certainly a positive move for the discerning listener. The bad news, however, is that these groundbreaking computers are Japan only for the time being.
