Here’s a painfully ironic twist of fate if you happen to work for a particular Cupertino, California-based consumer tech giant: Google, maker of iOS’s top mobile platform rival, is the top publisher in the iOS App Store by download volume, when excluding games. The news comes from App Annie, which recently released its March data.

The firm shows that Google’s 37 apps were collectively downloaded more times in March than apps from any other publisher that is not a mobile game maker. The No. 2 publisher in March was Tencent, followed by Facebook and Baidu. Apple’s own apps rounded out the top-5 in March.

Interestingly, Google was not the top non-game publisher in Android’s Google Play app store in March. That honor went to Facebook, which has just 10 apps available on Google Play. Google was the No. 2 Android publisher in March, and it has 97 available Android apps.
