According to a T-Mobile spokesperson, T-Mobile is suspending the sale of the Nokia 5610 XpressMusic handset and recalling the entire 5610 inventory, including floor demos and literature, from all stores and warehouses. The issue appears to be a manufacturing problem that affects the display. Nokia has now fixed the error in the current crop of 5610s but the T-Mobile’s supply were all manufactured prior to the fix and still have the design flaw. Unfortunately, at this point, there is no word as to whether the 5610 will return to T-Mobile’s lineup. Anyone whose phone experiences any problems can bring their defective 5610 into a store and get a Nokia 6301 or 5310 as a replacement. Depending on which replacement model was selected, customers will also get a $50 or $25 credit. Kudos to T-Mobile for not turning a blind eye and actually pulling a defective phone but really, T-Mobile, the replacements you offer could include at least one of those hot new handsets hitting your this holiday season.
