A video surfaced on YouTube purportedly showing the Xperia Sirius D6503, an unreleased smartphone believed to be the Xperia Z2 flagship, which could be unveiled in the near future, maybe as soon as MWC 2014. The short clip, discovered by Xperia Blog, shows what Sony has built on top of KitKat. A new screen unlock effect, Xperia Themes, the Walkman functionality, the image gallery and quick-starting the camera from the lock screen are quickly demoed.

Other software features including 4K video recording as well as various camera apps can also be spotted on the handset. The iconic side button of the Xperia line is also clearly visible. However, the bezel of the screen appears to be thicker than a recent leak suggested.

It’s not clear why the video poster had access to the phone, or whether this is indeed the Xperia Z2. Other videos showing the design of the handset have not been uploaded to YouTube yet. In the video description, Rimas Flyil wrote that “this is not the final software version guys. It’s still on testing.”

The Xperia Sirius D6503 video follows below.
