Apple (AAPL) has reportedly blocked an update to Microsoft’s (MSFT) SkyDrive app for iOS as the two clash over revenue sharing, a new report claims. Citing multiple unnamed sources, The Next Web reports that Apple is seeking a 30% cut of revenue generated by users who sign up for SkyDrive subscriptions within the app, as it does with all similar apps in the App Store. Microsoft’s current app allows users to sign up for free SkyDrive accounts and then upgrade to paid subscriptions at a later time. Because Microsoft has not agreed to pay Apple’s 30% cut, Apple has reportedly blocked all updates to the SkyDrive app. The Next Web reports that Microsoft even tried to push an update that removes all subscription options — free and paid — but Apple still rejected the new version. The last update to SkyDrive for iOS was released this past June.
