Not including the Gear Fit, which is more of a fitness band, Samsung has already released four smartwatches that run various operating systems: the Galaxy Gear, Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Life.
The publication has learned that the company is working on a Gear 3 gadget that might be a bit more interesting than all the aforementioned models, as it could feature a curved display that’s even curvier than the Galaxy Fit’s screen. The Gear 3’s AMOLED screen will be slightly more rectangular rather than square and have thin side bezels.
Other potential Gear 3 features include a rectangular home button akin to the ones found on Samsung’s smartphones and cellular connectivity, something that was already rumored to be in the works for a standalone Gear Solo smartwatch. A built-in camera will not be available on the Gear 3 buyers.
It’s not clear at this time when the Gear 3 is supposed to launch, but Samsung’s September 3rd Galaxy Note 4 event might also bring more details about its new wearable devices.
