We’ve already seen some leaked pictures of Samsung’s upcoming “premium” smartphone but we don’t think any of them have quite looked this good. @evleaks has posted a new leaked press render of the upcoming Galaxy F that’s slated to release later this year, and this new picture shows the device in gold. While this is our first look at the Galaxy F in gold, we’re not at all surprised Samsung is releasing a gold version of the device since it’s also released gold versions of both the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy S5.
The Galaxy F is Samsung’s first attempt at making a smartphone with a metal casing that’s a departure from the company’s normal plastic builds. Earlier leaks have shown the device in a sleek metallic grey that looks similar to the type of casing we see from HTC’s hugely acclaimed HTC One (M8) flagship phone.
While we still don’t know exactly when Samsung will release the Galaxy F, a report we saw last week indicated that Samsung will launch it alongside the Galaxy Note 4 this September and pit it head-to-head with the iPhone 6. Rumored specs for the Galaxy F include a 5.3-inch quad-HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, LTE-Advanced support, microSD support and Android 4.4.3 KitKat.
