The most annoying issue with the OnePlus 2 isn’t its lack of an NFC chip or microSD slot. It’s that the company still isn’t ready for a proper launch, meaning many fans looking forward to buying the handset will have to deal with an annoying invitation system yet again.

The phone goes on sale beginning on August 11th in two configurations: a base $329 OnePlus 2 that packs 3GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, and a $389 OnePlus 2 with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
Specific prices for various markets can be seen below.
According to OnePlus, you can settle for the invite system, which should offer you a better experience than last year’s system, or go to a OnePlus 2 event and hope to score early access to the device.
On July 31st, the company will kick off OnePlus 2 presentation events in New York, San Francisco, London, Paris, Berlin, Milan, New Delhi, Bangalore and Jakarta. In addition to seeing the gadget in action, attendees will receive special gifts and can win invites to buy a OnePlus 2, or even an actual phone.
If you can’t make it to an event, then you can register for invites the old fashioned way on the company’s forum — follow this link to get more details about the invite system.
Finally, you can obtain invites from other contests and promotions, or from friends who have purchased the phone. Of note, you’ll only have 24 hours to purchase a OnePlus 2 once you manage to secure an invite.
