Nokia (NOK) CEO Stephen Elop keeps insisting that he’s not annoyed that Microsoft (MSFT) is helping to promote rival Windows Phone 8 devices. According to Reuters, Elop told the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecoms conference on Wednesday that Microsoft and Nokia maintain a “special” relationship with one another even though Microsoft has been building Windows Phone 8 partnerships with rival manufacturers such as HTC (2498) and Samsung (005930). Elop in the past has cited unspecified contractual rights that Nokia received by being the first company to exclusively use Windows Phone, although he’s never gone into any details about what those rights entail. Elop has also said that Microsoft “could” give Nokia exclusive access to certain parts or aspects of Windows Phone in the future.
