After Google confirmed when launching Android 5.0 Lollipop that the older Nexus 4 handset will also be upgraded to its latest mobile operating system, a Googler said on Google+ that update version LRX21T is “locked and loaded,” Android Police reports, later explaining the update is meant to reach the Nexus 4 in the near future.
FROM EARLIER: Lollipop is now rolling out to all major Google Nexus devices
“Just Nexus 4 [is getting LRX21T] for now. Our goal was to use as many letters as possible for all the different devices,” Sascha Prüter said, adding the update will arrive “soon, not sure when exactly but shouldn’t be too long. Staging the factory images always takes some time.”
So far, various Nexus devices have already received their respective Lollipop builds, with a version of Motorola’s 2014 Moto G model receiving the update even earlier than some of Google’s own devices.
Other Android device makers, including LG, Samsung and NVIDIA, have confirmed or at least hinted that some of their flagship devices will get updated to Android 5.0 by the end of the year, a lot faster than some people might have anticipated.
