Apple announced on Monday that it sold more than 3 million iPads globally in under four days, making the new tablet Apple’s second-fastest selling mobile device launched to date. Ad network Chitika on Tuesday illustrated the new iPad’s success using another metric — after fewer than five days on the market, Apple’s third-generation tablet already accounted for more than 5% of U.S. iPad traffic across its network. “As of 2 PM on 3/20/2012, ‘The new iPad’ represents 5.52% (average of the last 24 hours) of all iPad traffic, according to Chitika Insights,” Chitika’s Gabe Donnini wrote in a blog post. Apple’s new iPad features a better-than-1080p high-definition Retina Display, an A5X processor with quad-core graphics, a 5-megapixel rear camera and option 4G LTE connectivity.
