Motorola announced on Friday that it will begin to sell a new XOOM Family Edition Android tablet on October 16th for $379. The XOOM Family Edition is nearly identical to the original XOOM, but it comes preloaded with $40 worth of games and applications, such as Kid Zone, Asphalt 6, Sim City Deluxe and Quickoffice Pro HD. The XOOM Family Edition runs Android 3.1 (Honeycomb) and is equipped with a dual-core processor clocked at 1GHz, a 10.1-inch display and a 5-megapixel camera capable of recording 720p video.
