LG Group announced Tuesday that it projects record sales of nearly $136 billion in 2011. LG also stated that 2010 sales are estimated to come in at $123 billion, an impressive 13% improvement over 2009. LG’s 2011 sales projections would set a new record for the company, though its growth rate would slow to 11% year-over-year. Between its electronics, chemical and mobile businesses, LG Group anticipates that approximately 75% of its sales revenue will come from markets outside of South Korea, where the conglomerate is headquartered. It expects overseas sales to increase 18% in 2011, to $107.3 billion, and LG’s electronics units are projected to account for roughly 62% of its total revenue.
