Lenovo reportedly prepping P770 Android smartphone with the biggest battery on the market

As smartphones get larger displays with higher resolutions and fast LTE data connectivity, it’s often the battery that gets the least love because breakthroughs that double and triple their run times are little more than proof-of-concepts. Motorola’s DROID RAZR MAXX HD  and Samsung’s (005930) Galaxy Note II have been lauded for their long-lasting batteries, but other smartphone vendors are catching up. Lenovo (LNVGY) is reportedly planning to launch the P770 Android-powered smartphone with a 3,500 mAh battery – larger than the DROID RAZR MAXX HD’s 3,300 mAh power cell and the Note II’s 3,100 mAh battery. As PhoneArena notes, the leaked specs for the P770 are not as impressive: 4.5-inch qHD display (960 x 540 resolution), dual-core MediaTek MT6577 processor paired with 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel camera and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
