They say all good things must come to an end, and such is the case with Jon Stewart’s 16-year run as host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show. Stewart shocked fans earlier this year when he announced that he would be retiring as the show’s host sometime in 2015. Now, Stewart has confirmed exactly when his last appearance as host will take place.

In a recent interview, Stewart explained exactly why he decided to leave the popular daily news show that he has been hosting for more than a decade and a half. In the end, it boiled down to a decreasing amount of satisfaction and an increasing desire to spend more time with his family.
As of Monday night, we know exactly when Stewart’s departure will take place.
At the end of Monday night’s The Daily Show, Stewart announced that the last episode of the show that he will host will air on Thursday, August 6th.
“I will be wearing a suit. I will, more than likely, be showered,” Stewart said of his final episode. “I’m sorry, I will be wearing overalls, and I won’t shower.”
The Daily Show contributor Trevor Noah will take over for Stewart as host, though it is not yet known when his first episode will air.
