Late last night Apple released iTunes 7.2, with the promised iTunes DRM-free tracks. There doesn’t seem to be many DRM-free songs inside of iTunes yet. These new tracks are called iTunes Plus. The new DRM-free $1.29 tracks were announced back in April with EMI. From their site the “What’s New” area says, “With iTunes 7.2, preview and purchase iTunes Plus music-new higher-quality, DRM-free music downloads from participating music labels.” It seems you must go into your account settings and enable iTunes Plus in order to get this new feature, otherwise these tracks won’t be visible.
