One rumor that won’t seem to go away is that Sony is throwing down with a gaming phone. Now, as the holiday season approaches, rumors start to take seemingly true shape. Though it won’t be out until February, details are starting to surface about a new “Playstation Phone” that actually won’t have any Playstation or PSP branding. However, there’s potential for a similar interface, and Mobile Entertainment suggests that it will 100% gaming focused, with motion-sensing (ala Wii) ability. We’ll go out on a limb and say that, if it’s true, look for a hard push for networkable games to lead the charge, much like the recently rumored/announced N-Gage platform revival. Gaming phones are starting to become the talk in some circles…is there really a market for them?
