‘iPhone 5S’ name confirmed on official carrier website

Whether or not Apple actually calls its new mid-range smartphone the “iPhone 5C” is still up in the air, but most industry watchers seem fairly certain that the company’s new flagship handset will be called the “iPhone 5S.” For those still questioning the new moniker, a slip-up on Japanese wireless carrier KDDI’s website will likely put an end to any uncertainty. Japanese gadget blog Arigato-ipod.com on Friday discovered the name “iPhone 5S” hiding in plain site in the source code on one of KDDI’s official websites. The name has since been removed from the carrier’s site, but a pair of screenshots captured before it was pulled follow below.
