Sales of Apple’s (AAPL) iPad mini tablet are expected to handily top other devices in the 7- to 8-inch category during the holiday quarter, and it looks like demand for Apple’s smaller slate will stay hot through the first quarter next year. Citing anonymous supply chain sources, Digitimes on Tuesday reports that Pegatron Technology, one of Apple’s key manufacturing partners, expects to see continued strong sales performance through Q1 2013 based on strong iPad mini orders from Apple. The report notes that Pegatron’s revenue grew 64% year-on-year in November thanks largely to its iPad mini contract, and Apple’s suppliers are expected to ship between 8 and 10 million iPad mini tablets by the end of 2012.
