The evidence continues to stack up that the Retina-equipped iPad mini will not be released in 2013. According to Apple Insider, Cantor Fitzgerald analyst Brian White recently met with several electronics manufacturers and suppliers in China and Taiwan, where his sources backed up claims that the next iPad will be a major redesign from previous models, but did not have anything to say about the future of the iPad mini. This led White to believe that Apple’s upcoming Retina-equipped iPad mini will not be released this month alongside the next generation of its larger counterpart. Given that the original iPad mini faced supply constraints due to manufacturing difficulties, it’s not surprising that the Retina-equipped version of the tablet is proving an even harder nut to crack.
