Next-gen iPad mini rear shell purportedly revealed in leaked pictures

With or without a Retina display, it looks like we are getting a new iPad mini sometime this year. FanaticFone, which on Thursday gave us some leaked pictures of the fifth-generation iPad rear shell, has now posted pictures that are purportedly of the next-generation iPad mini’s rear shell. The website notes that “the name ‘iPad’ is missing from the rear housing” of the part, which indicates that the shell is likely a prototype. FanaticFone also says that there’s nothing particularly new about the leaked shell that differentiates it from the original iPad mini, so it looks like Apple has decided to not tinker with the iPad mini’s overall design very much this product cycle.
