As has become commonplace over the past few years, The Wall Street Journal again confirms numerous reports that Apple is preparing a new iPad tablet to launch in early 2012. Earlier reports from multiple sources claimed that Apple’s third-generation iPad, which had supposedly been targeted for a fall or winter 2011 launch, had slipped back to Apple’s now-customary spring launch time frame next year. Apple had reportedly been having issues with its display partners, who are unable to manufacture the iPad 3’s alleged 2,048 x 1,536-pixel display quickly enough to meet the company’s volume demands for a launch this year. Apple is still thought to be on track for a fall iPhone launch however, with at least one new smartphone expected to be announced next month.
