Last week we told you about a promising iOS 8 and iOS 8.1 jailbreak release that wasn’t quite ready for primetime because it didn’t yet have support for the Cydia app store, which is usually the main attraction for people who jailbreak their phones and want to install unauthorized iOS apps. 9to5Mac brings us word, however, that the team from Pangu have now brought Cydia onboard, which means that their jailbreak should now be good to download and install onto your device.
FROM LAST WEEK: An iOS 8.1 jailbreak is out – but you can’t download it yet
“The jailbreak tool is available for Windows as a free download and takes just minutes to install,” explains 9to5Mac. “Cydia can then be installed through the Pangu app. Thankfully, the jailbreak is untethered rather than tethered, meaning that you do not need to reconnect your iOS device to a Mac or PC in order to reapply the jailbreak after every reboot.”
You can install the jailbreak onto any device that’s capable of running iOS 8 and iOS 8.1, including all iPhones, iPads and iPod touch models that support the new software.
