The devil’s in the details, at least that’s what they say. End-users combing through Apple’s latest iTunes 10.2 update have unearthed several interesting artifacts — images of the white iPhone in both the AT&T and Verizon flavors. The AT&T icon has been included in the program’s contents since the albino smartphone was first promised back in June of last year. The white Verizon iPhone , complete with it’s second diversity antenna break, however, was added recently. Last week, Apple’s VP of worldwide marketing, Phil Schiller, took to Twitter to let a curious user know that a white iPhone would be available “this spring.” It’s widely assumed that the iDevice maker will announce an update to its smartphone, being called the iPhone 5, in the June/July timeframe. Connecting the two dots, many thought — present company included — that the white iPhone Schiller was referring to would be delivered in the form of the iPhone 5. The addition of these white, iPhone 4-lookalike icons could mean one of three things: the iPhone 4 will continue to be sold in both black and white, even after the release of the iPhone 5; the next iPhone looks identical to the previous model; or there is no iPhone 5 coming this summer. It also could be the Cupertino company messing with us, and if that is the case, good on ya Apple.
