We already told you about Samsung’s plans to double the now-standard speed of high-end, dual-core smartphone processors from 1GHz to 2GHz. So why not double the standard 8 megapixel core image-sensor on smartphone cameras too, no? Blog PocketNow has sniped an HTC advert that boasts of a 16 megapixel smartphone shooter. The end of the video promotion depicts a Windows Phone device that has a look akin to the HTC Desire S — as PocketNow points out, this could simply be a placeholder device. HTC is not known for its optical awesomeness, so hopefully this new and improved imaging-core refocuses the company’s efforts on its camera. The video is after the break.
