HTC’s third quarter earnings are up 30% thanks to the crazy popularity of their Touch series devices. The only speedbump they hit is the 4.9% drop in profit due to shipment delays, but it doesn’t look like it’s hitting them too hard. The Touch-Diamond and Touch Pro has been receiving some pretty decent fanfare and interest in people who are looking to move to smartphones or switching from their current devices. The recent explosion in sales puts HTC right behind Nokia and RIM in terms of the largest makers of smartphones. Looks like HTC is on the up and up, especially with the manufacture of the new Treo Pro and the outrageously popular G1 on the horizon. T-Mobile didn’t anticipate the popularity of the device during its early pre-order stages and had to triple their inventory just to keep up. Job well done, HTC.
