Hot Summer Life Hacks Tips Tricks

It’s incredibly hot out there, so you’re probably wondering how to beat the heat other than staying huddled around an air conditioner and gorging on ice cream. It turns there are plenty of ways to beat the heat that don’t involve remaining docile for months on end.

DON’T MISS: Boeing 777’s insane landing in a 75MPH windstorm is almost too unnerving to watch

In fact, Lifehacker has 10 tips and tricks you should consider for dealing with the summer heat wave.

Some are very simple, like building your DIY cheap air conditioner, which will save you some money while keeping you cool. You can also optimize your fan usage by automatically turning the fan on and off based on temperature, and facing the fan out the window rather than in.

In case you don’t want to increase your electricity bill, you might consider optimizing your windows. That means insulating them against the sun’s heat and keeping them closed during the day and open at night.

Drinking more water is also one of the most obvious things you need to do. Not only will it help you cool off, but it’ll also save you from dehydration.

You can also cut down on the amount you sweat by wearing breathable clothing made out of cotton and applying antiperspirants at night.

Just because it’s hot, that doesn’t mean you have to stop exercising. In fact, you should do it smartly, by switching to water sports and avoiding the sun when possible.

Other tricks included in the guide concern staying cool at night, keeping food cool and avoiding the oven, cooling your car quickly (by keeping one door open, while simultaneously opening and closing the opposite door) and figuring out what parts of your body to apply ice to.

More details on each of these heat-avoiding life hacks are available at the source link.
