Apple debuts HealthKit service and Health app for iOS 8

Apple has really hit its stride now during its big WWDC 2014 keynote, and the company just announced HealthKit and an associated Health app. HealthKit allows developers and healthcare providers to provide access to health information on users’ iOS devices. The system’s Health app services as the front end for users, giving users access to all of the related information. HealthKit will also support third-party fitness apps, so all health and fitness related data is accessible right in a single app.
