A report from Android Police said earlier this week that Google is working on a major update for Android that will offer users some advanced multitasking features, including bridging web-related activities performed under the same Google account on Android, Chrome and the web, as well as featuring new design elements. Now, a mysterious Redditor is apparently ready to confirm the existence of Project Hera – which is the codename of this Android update – providing a screenshot of it in the process.

“You’ve probably seen the article on [Android Police] about Project Hera and the supposedly redesign of Gmail. Well, those mock-ups are wrong,” Reddit user androidleaker said from a “throwaway account.” “Here’s a screenshot of the real upcoming version of GMail. It may be a little outdated since it is taken from a development version, but it can give you an idea of what to expect from Project Hera.”

Recent leaks have suggested that Google is redesigning Gmail, Calendar and working on new Google Now tricks, although it’s not clear when the updated apps, or the new Android OS, are going to be released. However, before a next-gen Android OS version is launched, an Android 4.4.3 update is expected.

Androidleaker did not respond to any of the comments on Reddit, and has not posted anything else. The image he referred to in his comment follows below.
