Google (GOOG) and three of its Android partners are preparing to launch new Nexus smartphones later this year, according to a report from Japanese website Android Noodles. A winter device roadmap allegedly belonging to Japan’s largest wireless carrier, NTT DoCoMo (DCM), mentions the Samsung Galaxy Nexus II, LG Optimus Nexus and Sony Xperia Nexus. It has previously been reported that Google was interested in releasing five Nexus devices in time for the holiday season this year, one of which — the Nexus 7 — has already launched. Earlier on Tuesday, a purported spec sheet listed an unannounced Galaxy Nexus sequel, possibly revealing that Google’s upcoming flagship smartphone will only be a minor update over its predecessor.
