Google starts hooking up lucky Kansas City homes with Google Fiber [video]

Kansas City is about to get the fastest commercial Internet service in the United States. Google (GOOG) on Tuesday said that it had started connecting homes in Kansas City to its Google Fiber network that promises maximum download speeds of 1Gbps. Alana Karen, Google Fiber’s director of service delivery, says that there are two steps for connecting Kansas City residents to the network: The company will first “pull your Fiber from the street to the side of your house” and will then “get in touch with you to schedule the second stage, your in-home installation.” Google’s information video about the fiber installation process is posted below.
