Although we were disappointed that Google didn’t unveil the newest version of its Android mobile operating system at Google I/O earlier this year, the company looks set to make some Android-related news next week. Per AndroidCentral, Google has scheduled an early morning press event on July 24th with Sundar Pichai, who earlier this year became the chief of both Google’s Chrome and Android divisions. Although Google doesn’t provide any details about what Pichai will be discussing, it’s most likely that he’ll have some news on the next version of Android, even if it’s just the latest version of Jelly Bean and not the eagerly awaited Key Lime Pie that’s rumored to launch this fall. AndroidCentral also speculates that Google will unveil the sequel to its Nexus 7 tablet at the event.
