Samsung’s Galaxy S6 edge is my favorite Android phone. People who don’t appreciate design or differentiation will tell you that the edge display is silly or useless, but more discerning smartphone users want something beautiful that separates them from the pack. And of course, the Galaxy S6 edge can walk the walk as well as it talks the talk, as benchmark performance tests have repeatedly shown that the S6 and S6 edge are the most powerful smartphones on the market.

As it turns out though, there may be a bigger, better version of the Galaxy S6 edge on the horizon.

According to a curiously worded post from Italian mobile blog HDblog.it, Samsung is planning to unveil a bigger version of the Galaxy S6 flagship phone in the coming weeks. The blog cites “new rumors” while making its claims, but it doesn’t clarify where these new rumors were sourced. This isn’t the first time the phone has been rumored, however.

The new Galaxy S6 model is expected to be a phablet version of the Galaxy S6 edge with a 5.5-inch quad HD display and a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor. Should these rumors pan out, it would mark the first time Samsung has launched a true flagship phablet in the Galaxy S series.

Hilariously, the phone is expected to be called the “Galaxy S6 Plus.” Of course, one or two people out there might recall that Apple, a company Samsung is regularly accused of copying, named the phablet version of its latest iPhone the iPhone 6 Plus.

It’s not clear exactly when Samsung’s new Galaxy S6 Plus will be unveiled or when it will be released, but an announcement may be coming before the end of the month.
