Samsung was supposed to launch the Galaxy Note 4 on October 10th in the U.K., but the company confirmed to SamMobile that’s not happening anymore. Instead, the phone will be available in the region a week later, on October 17th, when it’s also supposed to launch in other European countries, and in North America.

“Due to the amazing interest and demand for the Galaxy Note 4, the device will now go on sale in the UK from the 17th October,” Samsung said on its U.K. Twitter account.
Samsung has yet to explain what “amazing interest and demand” amounts to. The Galaxy Note 4 has been available for preorder in the U.K. starting with September 19, but Samsung did not mention any actual sales numbers.
The company sold out of its Galaxy Note 4 stock on launch day in South Korea on September 26th, after pushing the launch date forward for its home country in response to Apple’s record iPhone 6 sales. However, reports suggested that Samsung may have distributed only some 30,000 units to the three main mobile operators in the region for launch day.
Since then, the phone has also launched in China, although sales details for the handset are not available.
The company usually announces sales numbers for its Galaxy devices, although it does mention when certain milestones are hit. According to recent reports, Samsung wants to sell no less than 15 million Galaxy Note 4 units in the first month of sales, even though it faces very tough competition from Apple’s iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
