October came and went without the Galaxy Note 12 launch we were promised by recent rumors, but a new report suggests the giant tablet will likely debut sometime early next year. Digitimes on Monday cited information from multiple anonymous sources at unnamed supply chain companies in Taiwan in claiming that Samsung is readying 12.2-inch “tablets” that will enter mass production by the end of 2013. The timing suggests that Samsung may plan to announce the supersized slate at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this coming January. Earlier reports suggested that the Galaxy Note 12 will feature a better-than-full HD display, and Digitimes thinks this will be among the first of many tablets with displays that grow beyond 10-inches. Apple is also rumored to be toying with the idea of a larger iPad, though it is unknown if a 12- or 13-inch iPad will ever see the light of day.
