While no iPhone 6 test units were forgotten in bars, many leaks preceding the phone’s official launch did reveal its final design. But that doesn’t mean a fully functional iPhone 6 prototype would not generate plenty of interest on eBay. In fact, The Next Web has found such an auction, with the iPhone 6 currently selling for almost $80,000, with more than three days left in the action.
FROM EARLIER: Here’s what happens when a diehard Android fan uses the iPhone 6 for two straight weeks
“For sale is a brand new never used Apple iPhone 6 Prototype,” user kimberlyk1018 wrote. “Apple does not let these phones out of their possession yet I was accidentally sent one upon renewing my contract. As you can see from the photos, iOS8 has not been placed on this device, rather it is in the true developer mode. There are no FCC markings on the rear of the device or a model number. This is the real deal!”
That does sound like a very unlikely story, although stranger things have happened.
