Last month we began a new series of posts that sought to identify the “best” content on Netflix based on real data rather than just some writer’s opinion, as many other sites do. The feedback was terrific, so we’re definitely going to continue the series.

In this latest entry, we’re focusing on movies that fall into one genre in particular, and it’s a time-tested favorite: Action.

For a quick refresher, this list covers movies that are currently available to stream on Netflix, and it is based on three different types of rankings: IMDB ratings, Rotten Tomato ratings and Netflix user ratings. A title’s three scores are then averaged together to create one master ranking.

The following list contains the 10 best action movies available to stream on Netflix right now, as ranked using the above formula. You’ll find the average ranking next to each title.

Of note, you can click on any title to visit its Netflix page and start streaming immediately or add it to your queue.
