There are times when we’re really in awe of how lazy people have become in regards to cooking. For example, boiling and straining pasta isn’t exactly an arduous task. In fact, it’s likely one of the very easiest things that you can do when you’re cooking at home. Nonetheless, Barilla this year has unveiled a special new kind of pasta for people who just don’t want to go to the trouble of pouring their pasta into a strainer.

As you’ll see in the video below, you can cook Barilla Pronto Pasta by pouring three cups of cold water into a pan with the pasta, heating it on a stove and waiting for the pasta to absorb all the water just like rice does. Of course, as The Huffington Post points out, this “technique” for cooking pasta usually results in horribly soggy pasta that doesn’t have the same al dente-level firmness that sophisticated pasta eaters are looking for.
Then again, if you’re the sort of person who thinks boiling and draining water is an arduous chore that you’d just rather avoid, you probably don’t care if your pasta has a reasonable consistency. In fact, you probably have never even heard of the term al dente before either, so this dish really is right for you.
