Aside from Apple’s new iPhone 6s models, the company’s most anticipated product this fall is the fourth-gen Apple TV. Sporting an A8 processor, a snazzy new remote with built-in Siri functionality, and of course, support for a dedicated App Store, the upcoming Apple TV represents Apple’s boldest and most intriguing play for control of the living room.

When Apple initially introduced its upcoming Apple TV at a special media event this past September, the company indicated that it was on track for a October release. Alas, now comes word via 9to5Mac that the Apple TV release has now been slightly pushed back. While pre-orders for the device will open up in late October via Apple’s online store, deliveries will not begin until the first week of November.
The report also corroborates previous reports indicating that Apple’s gargantuan iPad Pro will start showing up in stores in early November as well.
As we’ve previously detailed, the fourth-gen Apple TV has the potential to game-changer, especially if the App Store on Apple’s new set-top box catches on and if the company’s rumored TV subscription service actually provides an attractive value proposition.
Most recently, Apple CEO Tim Cook noted that Apple is planning to offer an API so that third-party apps can be included under Apple’s Universal Search feature.
When the Apple TV finally does become available, users will be able to pick up one with 32GB of storage for $149 and a 64GB model for $199.
