It looks like Nokia might not be the only consumer electronics company getting ready to rip off Microsoft’s Surface tablet design. According to Jamie Ryan, who used to work at Apple in its developer relations department, the company has been working on a keyboard case for its full-size iPad tablet that “mimics Microsofts [sic] touch cover.” He also says that the new accessory could possibly be announced at the company’s press conference on Tuesday. Ryan claims to have learned of Apple’s plans from multiple unnamed Apple employees, though he is not confident that the new cover will be ready for an unveiling this week. He says Apple has been testing various designs for a keyboard cover for quite some time now, and he also notes that other iPad cover accessories may be in the works. According to Ryan, Apple’s new keyboard cover will help the company further differentiate between the full-size iPad and its smaller counterpart, the iPad mini.
