…marshmallow!
Shortly after Burke posted his picture, an Android Developer’s blog post went up that confirmed Marshmallow is the official name of the new software. The blog also announced the final preview version of Marshmallow is now available, as is the Android 6.0 software development kit.
Google for the past couple of years has been coy about which sweet treat it will use as the name of its latest major platform update. Android 5.0 Lollipop was unveiled as “Android L” before Google made the official announcement later. Other potential candidates for Android M apparently included Moon Pie, Meringue, Macaroon and Milkshake.
