Nokia 5800 XpressMusic available for pre-order in Spain, €150 more expensive than expected

European countries seem to be getting all the little surprises these days. First Germany gets its hands on the BlackBerry Curve 8900 with no warning and now Spain gets a little treat of its own – kind of. Here’s the good news: Nokia’s Spanish site has just unexpectedly made the 5800 XpressMusic available for pre-order. The bad news? The 5800 is listed at €429 as opposed to the very reasonable €279 Nokia announced the handset at. For those keeping score at home, that’s roughly a 54% premium. Umm Nokia, what’s up? If announced prices mean nothing, why not just go nuts and announce your next Nseries flagship at $100? We’re not sure what Nokia’s reasoning is for this pretty drastic price hike is, but 54% is quite an early adopter tax if Nokia is still planning to release the handset at €279.
