HTC’s Sense user interface offers more functionality and features than stock Android, but some people love the simplicity and customization options that define Google’s stock mobile operating system. The HTC One is offered running either Sense 5 or a stock version of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, but not both — until now. A new custom ROM from MoDaCo allows rooted HTC One owners to seamlessly switch between Sense 5 and stock Android.

The MoDaCo.Switch ROM contains a “Switch” feature that lets users choose which software they would like to run. Each switch is followed by a mandatory reboot, however data is shared between the two operating systems, meaning users won’t have to reinstall apps when switching between Sense 5 and Android.

While running two operating system will take up additional space, which is something that should be considered given the HTC One’s lack of expandable storage, MoDaCo.Switch gives users the best of both worlds, so it’s not a bad tradeoff. The custom ROM should arrive in the form of a public beta as soon as next week.

A video demonstration of MoDaCo.Switch follows below.
