An alleged internal product roadmap has leaked, and it appears to reveal Dell’s complete smartphone and tablet lines for 2011 and the first quarter of 2012. Numerous unannounced devices can be found on the slides, including three smartphones and six tablets. Beginning with phones, the Wrigley is set to be a “Windows Phone 7 Next Gen” handset that will launch around July. Specs include a 1GHz processor, a 4-inch WVGA display, an 8-megapixel camera and 720p HD video recording capabilities. The Hancock, launching in or around September, will be an Android Ice Cream device with a dual-core processor, a 4-inch 960 x 640-pixel display, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera and 1080p HD video recording. Finally, the Millennium should launch around October with the Android Ice Cream OS, a dual-core processor, a 4.3-inch 640 x 960-pixel display, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a VGA front camera, DLNA and 1080p HD video capture. Hit the break for a roundup of the tablets.
We should apparently expect to see new tablets from Dell beginning in April with the Gallo, a Honeycomb tablet that will be updated in October with handwriting recognition — a possible flagship feature to be found in a currently unannounced Android update. Next up is the Rosemount, a Windows 7 tablet with a 1366 x 768-pixel display due out in May or June. Then we’ll see another Honeycomb tablet from Dell in October dubbed Gallo, and two more in the first quarter of 2012 called the Opus One and Silver Oak. Also due in the first quarter next year is the Peju, a Windows 8 tablet.
While many of the smartphone and tablet names listed above are likely code names, we still get a pretty good idea of what we can expect from Dell over the next 13 months — assuming these slides are authentic, that is.
