The third episode in AMC’s season 6 of The Walking Dead brings an unexpected death that’ll surely incite fans just like the most recent events in Game of Thrones did.
In case you happen to watch both The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, but aren’t completely caught up to the latest episodes, you should know there are major spoilers ahead.

Let’s start everything off with episode’s most important event: Glenn apparently dies after being eaten alive by a horde of zombies. Glenn is a central character in the show and has appeared in all of the show’s seasons. He’s a veteran of Rick’s crew, well-versed in surviving in this post-apocalyptic universe where herds of zombies roam the planet, feeding off the few survivors who managed to escape.
Glenn managed to escape quite a few dire situations before, cheating death and marching forward with the group, but this time around it looks like he’s finally over. But is he really dead?
Fans of the series will quickly point out that you don’t actually see Glenn dying, and that the zombies feeding off him might be feasting on Nicholas, the new character who almost killed Glenn in the previous season. The two are on top of a dumpster, surrounded by zombies, facing imminent death. That’s where Nicholas loses it, shoots himself in the head and falls to the ground, pulling Glenn with him.
Glenn apparently falls underneath Nicholas, and there’s a chance that he may fool the zombies and get out alive from this one.
This clearly is The Walking Dead’s Jon Snow moment. The main Game of Thrones character died at the end of season five, but many expect him to be magically resurrected next season.
Glenn might not have a Melisandre close by, but Nicholas’ body might be enough to shield him from the undead. The entire new Walking Dead episode is otherwise a run-for-your-life scene. The action follows closely what happened in the first two episodes – in fact, it takes place right after the events in episode one and at the same time the Alexandria residents defend their homes against human attackers in episode two.
These two story lines are deeply intertwined, as all the commotion in Alexandria draws packs of zombies away from the massive herd that Rick and his crew were trying to lead away from the protected residential area. There’s plenty of death going around and plenty of desperation.
In fact, the entire episode ends up in limbo, with Rick succumbing to fears his daughter may have been killed by humans, as the RV is surrounded by walkers.
In other words, it’s got me excited to tune in next week.
