If you’ve been keeping up with BGR over the past week or so, you’ve probably seen a couple of stories regarding the surprising water resistance of Apple’s latest flagship phone, but before you take your iPhone 6s into the pool with you, you might want to watch the following from 9to5Mac and i Fix Your i.
By sealing the frame of the glass and LCD to the back housing, Apple has given its newest phones a chance to survive in water longer than any previous iPhone, but here are all the holes through which water can still creep in:
- Charging port
- Mic on the front
- Headphone jack
- Ear speaker
- Vibrate switch
- Volume buttons
- Mic on the back
And as 9to5Mac explains, after submerging the iPhone 6s in water for any significant amount of time, water will leak into the device, potentially damaging components within the iPhone. In other words, don’t be any less careful with your new iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus, even if it is more durable than the iPhone 6.
